چکیده

Measurements of the water vapor absorption cross-sections at two spectral points 2.1 µm and 4.0 transparency windows are performed by optical feedback cavity enhanced spectroscopy (OFCEAS). The self-continuum cross-section, CS, is measured for temperature values 30 47°C (303 320 K) 2853 cm−1 point, corresponding to lowest opacity region window. CS derived from pressure squared dependence self-continuum, found consistent with previous CEAS measurements in considered window but significantly smaller than Fourier transform (FTS). discussed relation FTS high temperature. Improved measurements of the foreign-broadened continuum of water vapor in the 6.3 μm band at -30 °C

Atmospheric emission in the 2 band of water vapor by the foreign-broadened continuum (1300-2000 cm -1 ) is important for retrievals of upper tropospheric water vapor. Previous work reported continuum coefficients retrieved from two downwelling emission measurements made with the Polar Atmospheric Emitted Radiance Interferometer (PAERI) at temperatures characteristic of the upper troposphere (be...

Infrared water vapor continuum absorption at atmospheric temperatures.

We have used a continuous-wave carbon dioxide laser in a single-mode realization of cavity ring-down spectroscopy to measure absorption coefficients of water vapor at 944 cm(-1) for several temperatures in the range 270-315 K. The conventional description of water vapor infrared absorption is applied, in which the absorption is modeled in two parts consisting of local line absorption and the re...

Galaxy Counts at 450 Μm and 850 Μm

Surveys of the distant Universe have been made using the SCUBA submillimeter(submm)-wave camera at the JCMT. 450and 850μm data is taken simultaneously by SCUBA in the same 5-arcmin2 field. Deep 850-μm counts of high-redshift dusty galaxies have been published; however, at 450 μm both the atmospheric transmission and antenna efficiency are lower, and the atmospheric noise is higher, and so only ...

Absorption measurements of carbon monoxide laser radiation by water vapor.

An intracavity water vapor cell in conjunction with a CO laser was used to measure experimentally the absorptive losses introduced for nineteen of the laser emission lines. The results indicated that the existing theoretical models are inadequate for predicting actual absorptance values for water vapor partial pressures in excess of 100 Torr. The accepted spectral location of at least one water...

HerMES: SPIRE galaxy number counts at 250, 350, and 500 μm*

Emission at far-infrared wavelengths makes up a significant fraction of the total light detected from galaxies over the age of Universe. Herschel provides an opportunity for studying galaxies at the peak wavelength of their emission. Our aim is to provide a benchmark for models of galaxy population evolution and to test pre-existing models of galaxies. With the Herschel Multi-tiered Extra-galac...
